For the 4th year in a row, our dojo is adopting a family for the holidays. We have a huge family this year–10 kids, most of them in the foster system. They need warm clothes, toys, and Safeway gift cards. If you’d like to contribute, take a look at the list and put your name down next to an item. If you prefer, you can give me a check and I’ll use it to buy whatever the family still needs at the end of the drive. It would be great to also give art supplies, books, and the like, if we can meet their primary needs first. It’s a wonderful time to be grateful for what we have and to share whatever we can. Let’s give them an abundant holiday and let them know we care! And if donating doesn’t work for you this year, no worries—we’re all doing the best we can. Thanks so much!

We’ll be having a party on Friday, December 13th, 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Dojo. You don’t have to be skilled at wrapping or even want to wrap. You can just lounge in your Roman guard and eat a sugar cookie.
Hope to see you all there.
First off, I want to say thank you to Jordan and Jocelyn Dodge and the Santa Cruz Fight Club for continuing to do the hard work of bringing us these tournaments and improving each time. Once again we had a blast at the IFK PKB Muay Thai SCFC5!
On Saturday November 9th, we entered 5 competitors, 4 Muay Thai fighters and one boxer, into this tournament, and won it!
Most of us were surprised, but Damian wasn’t. Despite our small team he believed we could take the trophy and led the charge into battle securing the first victory of the day, setting the tone for what was to follow.
Nick and Logan went on to win two fights each and nice pairs of gloves from Blackout. Nick took the tournament belt for his division. Moksha secured the win with a quick right hand, while Isaiah lost his bouts, but showed excellent grit and technique in his fights.
Big congratulations to Nick, Logan, Damian, Moksha, and Isaiah for going out and getting the business done. They all fought extremely well and did us proud! Here are some photos.
This is an excellent opportunity for FreeFall MMA students to get their feet wet in No-Gi without the pressure of the more dangerous leg-locks in the No-Gi game, as the IBJJF rules don’t ever allow heelhooks; and kneebars, toe-holds, and calf-slicers only become legal at Brown Belt.
Registration Ends Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:59 PM PST

As most of you know FreeFall MMA is a bit of a work in progress due to building permit issues that have held up construction, but at long last the functional fitness room into which the stuff from the TXT classes will be moving is slated to be finished by February 9th, at which time we will have all our heavy bags hung up and can begin our wrestling classes.
The Wrestling Schedule beginning on Tuesday, February 9th will be:
